Meet The Washoe Development Corporation Board

Raymond Brown Chairman Raymond C Brown was appointed to the Washoe Development Corporation Board of Directors, by the Washoe Tribal Council through Resolution March 12 2021. Chairman Brown had previously been a member on the Board of Directors for the Washoe Development Enterprise (WDE) in the late 1990s. Mr. Brown was on the WDE Board for the initial submission, by the Washoe Tribe, of the original Meeks Bay Resort Prospectus Application in 1997. Upon the formation of the WDC Board of Directors, Mr. Brown was elected Chairman by the newly established WDC Board. The board members believe that his historic participation and knowledge of the Washoe Tribe’s Economic Development efforts, in particular with Meeks Bay Resort, and his banking experience, he should lead the Board. Chairman Brown brings 45 years of Commercial Banking management experience as a C-level banker in San Francisco. Chairman Brown’s experience as an Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer brings a great deal of knowledge of successful management of a wide variety of industries that were bank clients. His experience and access to third party business resources lends greatly to the efforts of the WDC. Chairman Brown has non-profit experience having served for 39 years on the Board of Directors of the National Center for American Indian Economic Development (NCAIED) headquartered in Mesa, AZ. For twenty of those years he served as Treasurer. Chairman Brown served in the US Army as a Finance Officer in Germany in the late 1960’. He graduated from Oregon State University with a BS in Business Administration and also earned an MBA from Golden Gate University, San Francisco, in General Management.
